Joshua Van and Manel Kape Trade Barbs Ahead of Potential Title Showdown
Joshua Van and Manel Kape are exchanging verbal jabs as a potential title fight looms.
Van retained his flyweight championship at UFC 301, defeating Alexandre Pantoja in a rematch via decision. Following his strong performance, Kape appeared to be the next in line for a title shot.
While no fight has been officially scheduled, the two fighters are already trading insults. Van warned Kape about making weight.
“Yo fat f**k. Start cutting now cuz you better make weight! We don’t want another weight excuse. Let’s give the people what they want,” Van posted on X.
Kape, the top contender, responded to Van's post, even though Van hadn't directly named him.
“Finally came out of hiding, son? They told me you weren’t sure about facing your dad, but I guess there’s nowhere left to run. I promised I’d change your diapers, & I always keep my word. By the way, the weight I’m putting on is just so I can put you to sleep even earlier than Charles Johnson did,” Kape replied.
The animosity between Joshua Van and Manel Kape is evident. Their bout, once announced, is expected to be accompanied by significant pre-fight trash talk.
Joshua Van and Manel Kape Continue Their Feud
Van rejected Kape's accusation of hiding.
“Hiding ?? I been here, like I always am. You just too busy shopping for bra , udk wht been goin on,” Van responded.
Kape quickly fired back with a warning about how their potential fight would unfold.
“The only things I’ve been shopping for are diapers & your health insurance. Trust me, you’re gonna need both. And like a good father, I’m making sure everything’s taken care of in advance. I only need One clean shot and your face won’t match your passport anymore. #disfigured,” Kape wrote.
A fight between Van and Kape is not yet announced but is anticipated to be booked soon.
