Dana White: Eddie Hearn's Ego Caused Fury vs. Joshua Drama

Dana White suggested that Eddie Hearn’s ego created last-minute friction during the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua fight negotiations.

Fury and Joshua are slated to face off on December 11th in Cardiff for a long-anticipated heavyweight bout. Before the venue was confirmed, Fury claimed Hearn was delaying the fight. Hearn countered that Fury desired the fight to take place outside the UK, contrary to Joshua's signed agreement.

Following the venue announcement, Hearn stated White would not be involved in promoting the fight. Reports indicated this delay jeopardized Fury vs. Joshua, though both fighters appeared at the initial press conference and shared a moment during their face-off.

White, however, is unlikely to share a similar amicable stance with Hearn. Speaking to reporters after his "Contender Series," White blamed Hearn for the political issues that complicated the official confirmation of Fury vs. Joshua.

"This isn't hesitation; it’s an ego problem," White said. "It's purely ego. It has nothing to do with any of this. Boxing in the United States has suffered; it's not as big as it was two decades ago. It has become predominantly a British sport, and all the complaints you're hearing are from the UK. I'm enjoying this; it's right up my street."

White missed the kickoff press conference for Fury vs. Joshua, citing conflicts with his "Contender Series" schedule. Hearn's account of events will likely differ.
