Dana White Delays UFC White House Card Reveal, Hints at Conor McGregor's Inclusion
UFC President Dana White continues to keep details under wraps regarding the highly anticipated fight card for the June 14 event at the White House. However, White’s recent remarks strongly suggest that Conor McGregor might indeed be part of the historic lineup.
McGregor, known as 'The Notorious,' has been a subject of return speculation for several years, with fans eagerly awaiting news of his next fight, especially since his scheduled bout with Michael Chandler in 2024 fell through. While rumors of his appearance at the prestigious White House event are circulating rapidly, the UFC CEO remains tight-lipped about the official fight selections.
Since the announcement of this unique event, speculation about potential fighters has been rampant. White, however, is deliberately withholding information, believing that the once-in-a-lifetime nature of a White House event provides sufficient buzz without additional promotional efforts.
“I'll announce the entire card this week,” White stated definitively. “The card is complete. We’ve maintained extreme secrecy about this. You’ve probably seen the boards in our war room; this isn’t even on them. We use a separate whiteboard, jot down the fights, and then erase them after each matchmaking meeting. Normally, these meetings happen every Tuesday, but for the past two and a half weeks, they’ve been daily.”
Anticipation is building around which elite fighters will have the honor of competing on the White House South Lawn.
Several prominent names, including Jon Jones and Alex Pereira, have been floated for the White House card. Nevertheless, Conor McGregor's name frequently surfaces as the most likely contender. While Dana White typically deflects inquiries about fighters' upcoming matchups, he notably kept the possibility open for McGregor's participation at the White House, simply remarking, “We'll see. We'll see, brother.”
