Zielinski: Inter Dream of Champions League Glory, Names Scudetto Challengers
Piotr Zielinski has named the main Scudetto contenders and acknowledged Inter's "dream of winning the Champions League," particularly after their strong performance against Real Madrid.
Zielinski attended the Premio Gentleman awards in Milan. He spoke to reporters after returning from international duty with Poland, stating his readiness to rejoin training.
Inter has shown resilience this season, coming from behind in matches against Napoli and Udinese, and drawing with Roma. They currently share the top spot in Serie A with Roma and Lazio.
When asked about the Scudetto race, Zielinski said, "We'll see as the campaign progresses. Above all, we'll focus on ourselves. It's the usual suspects: Roma, Juventus, Napoli, Milan, but also Como."
Last season, Inter secured the Serie A title and Coppa Italia. However, their Champions League campaign ended prematurely with a playoff defeat to Bodo/Glimt. This season has also started with a setback, a 2-1 loss away to Real Madrid.
Despite the defeat in Madrid, the performance has fueled the team's and supporters' hopes. "Of course, winning the Champions League is our dream, and we'll give it our all," Zielinski commented. "Not everyone can go to the Bernabeu and dominate the game as we did, maintaining possession and creating chances. Unfortunately, we lost, but it showed us we are strong, and we proved it in Madrid."
