UFC Veteran Advocates for AI Judging After Controversial Scorecards

Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo proposed radical changes to MMA judging following the Natalia Silva vs. Wang Cong flyweight title fight at UFC 332.

Silva defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision to claim the vacant flyweight title. While Silva appeared dominant, two out of three judges scored the bout 48-47, a narrow margin that drew criticism.

Cejudo expressed his frustration on the *Pound 4 Pound* podcast, suggesting AI should replace human judges.

"We've got to start getting AI to start doing this," Cejudo stated. "It's a bunch of old people judging that are just in boxing, dude, like, it's ridiculous. Don't you think we have the technology to score a fight based on that? I think it's there."

He envisioned technology like chips in gloves and infrared lighting to precisely track strikes and their impact. "You'd be able to track it... if someone buckles, of course," he explained, emphasizing the advancements available in 2026.

Cejudo believes this shift is inevitable to prevent fighters from being "robbed" due to judges' potential lack of knowledge or emotional bias.
