Nakrob Fairtex Trusts Patience and New Power Against Parham Gheirati
Nakrob Fairtex faces Parham Gheirati in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout at ONE Fight Night 48 on October 2. This fight marks a significant point for Nakrob, who previously faced pressure due to a three-fight losing streak. To remain with the promotion, he adopted a more calculated and controlled fighting style against Jacob Smith, a change that secured him a decision win.
The 27-year-old Fairtex Training Center athlete felt the weight of those previous losses. "I felt immense pressure. I was on a three-fight losing streak, so losing again would’ve made it really tough to stay in the big show," Nakrob shared. He felt his strategy against Smith was successful, noting, "Overall, all three rounds went completely according to plan. I barely took any clean hits, while landing a ton of punches and kicks, which ultimately earned me the decision win."
Now, Nakrob moves up to the bantamweight division for his second fight there. He will face the 22-year-old Iranian Parham Gheirati, who had won six consecutive fights before his last promotional loss. Gheirati returns after a year-long break following his knockout victory over Tyson Harrison.
Nakrob believes his increased power in the bantamweight class enhances his tactical approach. "While I might not throw strikes as fast in this weight class, I’ve gained a lot more power in return," he explained. "During training, my strikes felt so much heavier that I actually surprised myself. I’ve never hit this hard before."
Despite his methodical strategy, Nakrob aims for a finish. "Even with a tactical approach, my goal every time I step into the ring is to get the finish. In this weight class, I’m confident that if I land a clean shot, anyone can go down. If Parham leaves an opening, I’m ready to close the show immediately."
