Dionatha Santos Tobias Aims for Tonglampoon's Chin at ONE Friday Fights 173
Dionatha Santos Tobias, a Brazilian fighter, believes his speed and precision will overcome the durability of Thai veteran Tonglampoon at ONE Friday Fights 173. Tobias, known for his finishes, sees Tonglampoon's chin as a potential weakness and plans to exploit it.
The strawweight Muay Thai bout is scheduled for Friday, October 2, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. Tobias, 26, has secured two wins in ONE Championship, both by stoppage before the final round. His recent victories against Mahahin Petkiatpet and Kongpoxay PK Saenchai highlight his finishing ability.
Tonglampoon, 22, brings a professional record of 48-15 into his 11th appearance on the series. While Tobias respects his opponent's toughness, leg kicks, and punches, he is confident that his own speed and accuracy will be the deciding factors.
Rather than relying on a single strategy, Tobias aims to adapt, stating, "To beat someone, especially in a small-gloves fight, depends on how you feel in the moment. I am a guy who has something prepared, but if that one doesn’t work, I have another thing, and then another thing." He emphasized his intention to leverage his speed and the precision of his hands.
When asked about potential weaknesses, Tobias directly pointed to Tonglampoon's chin, suggesting it has been an issue in recent fights. He also anticipates Tonglampoon might be expecting body shots, creating an opening for strikes to the head. While his primary goal is a knockout, Tobias expressed satisfaction with any win.
"The plan is to knock him out, but if this doesn’t work, I’m happy if I win," Tobias concluded.
