"I understand that some media outlets are trying to destroy me. But I dodge the bullets. I know many people want me to leave now, but my motivation comes from those who want to continue seeing me play," he stated, declining to set a date for his international retirement. "I'm no longer at an age to think about the future. For me, the present is most important," he affirmed, reiterating his ambition to reach the symbolic 1,000-goal mark.
