Jack Black Expresses Interest in Yakuza/Like a Dragon Franchise, Director Responds

American actor Jack Black has openly shared his desire to be involved with the Yakuza (now known as Like a Dragon) franchise, the long-running video game series developed by SEGA and overseen by its dedicated studio. In an interview with ScreenRant, Black indicated he would love to participate in a potential live-action adaptation of Yakuza (Like a Dragon), going so far as to suggest the studio reach out to him to discuss possible roles.

“So I’m putting my name in the hat. I don’t know if there’s a role for me, like a husky American, but talk to me. SEGA, call me.”

Following the American actor's statements, Masayoshi Yokoyama, the current director of the Yakuza (Like a Dragon) franchise and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, responded via a social media post.

“I can’t think of any role for him, but maybe I’ll call him even if I don’t have his contact info (lol).”

Now, we'll just have to wait and see if Jack Black makes an appearance in any future Yakuza (Like a Dragon) projects, similar to how other American actors like Danny Trejo have been featured in titles such as Infinite Wealth.
