Although a complete abandonment was feared, Remedy has announced that while there will be no further content updates, the game will remain operational, and measures are being implemented to facilitate access for more players.
The recent 'Open House' update, now available on Steam, introduces new arenas inspired by Control, gameplay improvements, and new armors. This marks the last major content update for the title. While future balance and bug-fixing patches are anticipated, no new maps, roles, armors, or game modes will be added.
Unlike other titles that have faced discontinuation, FBC Firebreak will avoid that fate. The game will remain available for purchase, and its servers will stay active indefinitely. This ensures players can continue combating threats within the Oldest House. Furthermore, there's more good news.
The price of this multiplayer title has been permanently reduced to $47,500 Colombian pesos on Steam and Xbox, and $19.99 USD on Steam, with an additional 20% discount throughout March on selected platforms. Most notably, each purchase now includes two 'Friend's Passes,' allowing up to two additional people to play the full game.
Although the 'Friend's Pass' functions differently across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, the core purpose remains the same: to allow two friends to play without needing to purchase the game themselves. Specific details on its use are available.
While we had hoped for a stronger reception for FBC Firebreak, we are pleased to see Remedy not only keeping it active but also making it more accessible to new players. It would have been ideal for these initiatives to have been in place since its launch.
