This event introduces the new Wildcard mode, a prestigious new skin for Gibraltar, and a variety of other cosmetic items. The event runs from Tuesday, August 18, 2026, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
New Wildcard Mode and EVO Upgrades
The centerpiece of the 'Ascending Hunt' event is the new Wildcard mode. In this mode, players must choose one of three EVO upgrade options for combat, survival, or mobility:
- EVO Improved Hip Fire: Reduces spread when hip firing.
- EVO Improved Critical Hits: Increases the chance of landing critical hits.
- EVO Shield Regeneration: Boosts shield regeneration.
- EVO Lifesteal: Increases the lifesteal percentage.
- EVO Climbing Boost: Enhances climbing momentum.
- EVO Sliding Boost: Allows for faster and longer slides.
As matches progress, players will unlock more slots for these Wildcard options. The map rotation for this mode includes Kings Canyon, District E, and Broken Moon.
Gibraltar's Apex Friendship Prestige Skin
As is tradition with these events, players can earn Marks to claim special items. This time, the highlight is Gibraltar's new golden Prestige skin, 'Apex Friendship.' This skin comes with a unique execution and leaves a fiery trail during its jump stack.
Other Cosmetic Additions
In addition to Gibraltar's prestigious skin, the event brings legendary skins for Valkyrie, Conduit, Wraith, Alter, Lifeline, and Horizon. Weapon skins are also available for the R-301, Havoc, Alternator, L-STAR, Bocek, and the 30-30 Repeater.
Event Store and Microtransactions
'Ascending Hunt' also introduces a new event store where players can purchase an epic skin for Mad Maggie. Additionally, new cosmetic items will be available for direct purchase as microtransactions.
