Preview Vin Diesel Expands Fast & Furious Universe with Four TV Series in Development

Vin Diesel, the star of the Fast & Furious franchise, has announced that Universal Television is developing at least four new TV series set within the universe of ex-thieves/car racers/international agents bound by family. One of these is expected to be a live-action Fast & Furious series slated for release on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform. These projects are being developed concurrently with Fast & Furious 11, officially titled Fast Forever, which is scheduled for a March 17, 2028 release.

Diesel will serve as executive producer for the television adaptations, with Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman attached as writers for the pilot episode. Daniels, known for his work on action series such as Sons of Anarchy and Pan Am, is currently writing and producing a reboot of The Rockford Files, a series that featured numerous car chases and driving sequences. Daniels and Coleman previously collaborated on Shades of Blue, a three-season series starring Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta, which followed a New York City police detective who goes undercover to expose corrupt colleagues.

Details regarding the specific Fast & Furious television spin-offs have not yet been revealed. However, Diesel has hinted that these series will delve deeper into the stories of the franchise’s established characters.

The Fast & Furious franchise has previously ventured into television with the animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. This children’s show centered on the adventures of Tony Toretto, the younger cousin of Dominic Toretto, and a group of young street racers recruited to infiltrate a criminal organization. The series aired on Netflix and comprised a total of 52 episodes.
