Preview Justine Loubens Joins Alicia Tournebize in NCAA

South Carolina is set to welcome a second French talent to its women’s basketball program, with Justine Loubens committing to join the Gamecocks. This move follows a few months after the initial signing of Alicia Tournebize. Both Loubens, a promising French basketball player, and Tournebize have previously played together for French youth national teams.

Loubens arrives at USC with four years of eligibility, providing ample opportunity to impress American scouts. In her debut season in the La Boulangère Wonderligue, the La Roche Vendée forward averaged 6.5 points and 2.4 rebounds. Her shooting percentages were also encouraging, with 47% from the field and 30% from three-point range.

Head coach Dawn Staley expressed her enthusiasm for the new addition, stating: “We are excited to have Justine join us. She is one of the best shooters in France, and the experience she has gained with her club and national team will help her in the upcoming SEC battles.”
