According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mason Greenwood is receptive to joining Roma from Marseille this summer. The English winger is seen as a potential replacement for Matias Soulé, who has reportedly received an offer from Aston Villa.
Roma’s Latest Transfer Rumors: Greenwood to Replace Soulé?
Roma are planning a significant reshuffling of their attacking lineup this summer, with Greenwood emerging as their top priority. Reports on Wednesday indicated that Roma had initiated contact with the player’s representatives, and Gazzetta now confirms a positive response, suggesting Greenwood is very much open to a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Gazzetta acknowledges that a primary obstacle for Roma is Marseille’s asking price for the player, estimated to be around €50 million, despite his contract running until 2029.
Adding to the potential midfield shake-up, Stephan El Shaarawy is set to depart Roma at the end of his contract in June. Meanwhile, Soulé might also be on his way out of the Olimpico, having attracted interest from Aston Villa.
Gazzetta reports that the Europa League winners have already submitted an offer for Soulé, though it falls short of Roma’s valuation of €35-40 million.
