Vincenzo Italiano has left Bologna by mutual agreement. However, reports from Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia indicate that Massimiliano Allegri is now the favored candidate to be appointed as Napoli’s new coach.
The former AC Milan manager, Massimiliano Allegri, has emerged as the primary contender to succeed Antonio Conte at the helm of Napoli.
Allegri Favored to Replace Conte at Napoli
According to Sky Sport, both Allegri and Vincenzo Italiano have reached an understanding with the Partenopei, who are nearing the conclusion of their evaluation process for a new head coach.
Bologna has just officially announced Italiano’s departure by mutual consent after a two-season tenure. Nevertheless, both Sky Sport and Sportitalia suggest that Allegri is now Napoli’s principal target.
Alfredo Pedullà reports that Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is displeased with elements of Italiano’s inner circle, particularly concerning the confidentiality of a meeting held between the coach and the club in Rome earlier this week.
Gianluca Di Marzio states that Allegri’s representatives and Napoli are currently engaged in advanced negotiations to finalize the terms of Max’s contract at the Stadio Maradona, with an agreement expected to extend until June 2028.
