Avatar Studios is gearing up to release the animated film “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+. This movie, produced by creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will feature the original characters Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko as adults, several years after the events of the series. Thanks to recent Target merchandise, we now have our first official look at these adult versions, along with the villain, who will be voiced by Dave Bautista. This project comes alongside the previously announced animated series “Avatar: Seven Havens,” which will follow the next Earthbender Avatar after Korra.

Adult Aang retains his characteristic appearance from the original series, including his round face, though he now looks more mature in these new images. While only his airbending is depicted, it’s clear his mastery over all elements has evolved significantly since we last saw him.

Adult Katara wears her traditional Waterbender attire, featuring her signature blue hues and fur details. However, a new element is noticeable: an orange band reminiscent of Air Nomad style, symbolizing her enduring love for Aang. While “The Legend of Korra” confirmed the couple had descendants, it’s gratifying to see their relationship portrayed in this manner.

Adult Zuko looks formidable in “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Years after the series finale, Zuko is now the Fire Lord, and his appearance in the film reflects his royal stature. He even bears a striking resemblance to his late father, Ozai. It seems time has been kind to the new Fire Lord.

Adult Toph is depicted as a powerful figure, ready for action in her first appearance in the film. Her original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” attire has been adapted, and her impeccable mastery of both earth and metalbending is unmistakable.

Adult Sokka’s image shows him wielding a sword as his primary weapon. Fans are hopeful to see if he retrieves his iconic meteorite sword, forged by Piandao. Despite lacking bending abilities, Sokka exudes a clear readiness for battle.

The cover reveals the first look at the villain, voiced by Dave Bautista, in “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” With the plot centered on saving the Air Nomads from extinction, it raises the question of whether this character is an Airbender who escaped the genocide and remained hidden, potentially making him the “last Airbender” while Aang was frozen.

Appa and Momo also make an appearance, seemingly aging much slower than the rest of Team Avatar, yet retaining their endearing charm.
