Approximately eight months after its official reveal and following a previous cancellation, we are finally nearing the release of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. However, despite the game being scheduled to debut in about a month, the date has been moved to refine the game before its worldwide launch.
What is the new release date for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game?
The official launch of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has been rescheduled for July 23, 2026. Additionally, the developers have stated they will use this time to add new content that was not originally planned. The initial roster will feature 12 fighters, including Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, Kyoshi, and the Avatar State versions of Aang and Korra.
When is the last beta before Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game’s release, and how to participate?
To compensate for the delay in the launch of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, a closed beta will be held from July 2nd to July 5th, allowing players to experience the game on consoles for the first time with crossplay enabled. To participate, players must pre-order the title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Steam. Those who pre-order will receive bonuses and the right to vote for at least one DLC character. Furthermore, a special broadcast was held yesterday on Maximilian Dood’s channel, showcasing the first gameplay of Avatar Kyoshi in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game.
An early look at her in-game model revealed her to be a large-bodied character, with a scale that doubles the size of Azula and other fighters, a similar difference to Sentinel compared to the rest of the cast in Marvel vs. Capcom titles. Due to her physical characteristics, Kyoshi will have difficulty evading attacks, but she will compensate for this weakness with extensive hitboxes and powerful moves. This has led to speculation about whether she will function as a grappler or possess armored attacks due to her affinity with Earthbending, in addition to her access to the other elements by nature of being the Avatar.
