While Fortnite has already introduced V and Johnny Silverhand skins from Cyberpunk 2077, leaks have been circulating for nearly a year about a third character joining the lineup: Adam Smasher. Despite strong confirmation, his release has been significantly delayed, but he is now ready to make his debut. There’s even a way to get him for “free,” though we’ll explain why we’re putting that word in quotation marks.
Epic Games has officially announced that this outfit will be available after the Fortnite store update on Thursday, May 14, 2026, along with the ‘Adam Smasher’s Shoulder Cannon’ back bling. You can see its official render below.
However, if you’re looking to acquire it without an additional cost and were planning to purchase Cyberpunk 2077 for PC, you’ll be pleased to know that this skin and its back bling will be given to all users who buy the game on the Epic Games Store starting May 14, 2026. This is why we used quotation marks around the word “free.”
This initiative is part of Epic Games’ strategy to offer free Fortnite skins with the purchase of certain games from their store, aiming to boost sales for their platform, which is a competitor to Steam. Resident Evil Requiem is also part of these promotional offers.
Personally, we have a bit of a dislike for Adam Smasher due to his role in ending our favorite character from the Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners anime, so we’re not particularly interested in getting his skin in Fortnite.
