Salahdine Parnasse is unsure if Max Holloway will accept a fight after his UFC Paris victory
Salahdine Parnasse harbors doubts about whether Max Holloway will accept his challenge following Parnasse's successful UFC debut at UFC Paris. Parnasse, who headlined the event on Saturday, secured a first-round TKO victory against Dan Hooker. After his dominant performance, he publicly called out Holloway but is not confident his opponent will agree to a bout, recognizing that he presents a difficult stylistic matchup.
"I am very confident in my readiness. I've dedicated my life to this sport since the age of eleven, preparing for moments like this. I feel exceptionally prepared. In KSW, I had three fights before challenging for the belt, facing highly recognized names in KSW and engaging in remarkable bouts. I'm uncertain about what lies ahead in the UFC, but I have issued a challenge to Max Holloway and sincerely hope he will accept it," Parnasse stated to Ariel Helwani.
A matchup between Parnasse and Holloway holds significant appeal, as the winner could potentially earn a title shot. However, the question remains whether Holloway would be inclined to face Parnasse, who is not as widely recognized as some other contenders in the division.
Salahdine Parnasse is open to fighting anyone after UFC Paris
Despite specifically calling out Holloway after his win, Parnasse affirmed his willingness to face any opponent.
Parnasse acknowledges that some top-ranked contenders might be hesitant to fight him, and therefore, he is prepared to take on whoever is available to demonstrate his capabilities.
"Look at me. I'm in perfect condition. I'm ready for tomorrow," Parnasse added. "A fight against Max Holloway would be ideal. He thrives on challenges, and I believe we could deliver a compelling battle. I have immense respect for Max and do not engage in trash talk; it's not in my nature. I am prepared to face any fighter in the top five."
Parnasse boasts a professional record of 24 wins and 2 losses, coming off his victory over Hooker. He is a former KSW featherweight and lightweight champion.
