Preview Svetislav Pesic to Retire at End of Season

A prominent figure in European basketball is set to conclude his illustrious career. Svetislav Pesic, who has been coaching clubs and national teams across the continent since 1982, confirmed his decision to step down this summer. The veteran Serbian tactician, who joined Bayern Munich mid-season, shared his plans in an interview.

“I know people don’t believe me when I say I’m going to stop. But after this season, it will truly be enough. I have a beautiful house in Barcelona, where part of my family lives. I also want to spend more time in my city, Pirot. I want to experience life in a different way.”

Among his most notable coaching achievements, Pesic led FC Barcelona to a historic treble in 2003. A year earlier, as a national team coach, he guided Yugoslavia to a World Championship title.
