The financial commitments being discussed are impressive, with several offers reportedly ranging between $500 million and $1 billion for franchise acquisition.
The immediate next steps in this process involve a thorough evaluation of these numerous proposals. Following this assessment, the NBA plans to carefully select partners who best align with its vision for this ambitious expansion and the long-term success of the league.
While the NBA and FIBA continue to engage in active discussions with the Euroleague, seeking a constructive, collaborative, and financially sustainable path forward for European basketball, a clear message has been delivered: securing a permanent spot in the new NBA-FIBA sanctioned league will exclusively occur through the NBA’s dedicated investment process for permanent franchise acquisition.
