JL Bourg Faces Early Setback with Hugo Robineau Injury
JL Bourg has encountered an early challenge. As the team prepares for its 2026/27 season opener against Saint-Quentin on September 26th, they learned on Thursday that new acquisition Hugo Robineau will be sidelined. Robineau suffered a foot injury during a friendly game against Hapoel Jerusalem and is expected to be out for 5 to 6 weeks, his new club announced.
Coach Frédéric Fauthoux and the management will not seek a temporary replacement for Robineau. This situation mirrors Robineau's experience last year, when he missed the start of the season with Boulazac due to a health issue. He only secured a significant role in Betclic Élite in November.
Undeniable Talent, Recurring Ailments
Robineau's initial foray into the top division was promising. In the 2025/26 season, he averaged 15 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, shooting an impressive 67% from the field as a scoring guard. These statistics positioned him as a key player for the Périgourdin club, earning him Player of the Month honors in the top division for March.
However, health issues also cut short his 2025/26 season. A knee injury kept him off the court for the remainder of the season, significantly hindering BBD's playoff aspirations. Now with JL Bourg, a team aiming for a Eurocup repeat, Robineau has the potential to make a significant impact this season, provided his body cooperates.
