Preview Palladino: No Signals from Atalanta Regarding Future

Raffaele Palladino, the current coach of Atalanta, has stated his desire to remain with the club and contribute to building a strong, competitive team for the upcoming season. However, he admits that he has not yet received any definitive communication or “signals” from the club regarding his future employment.

Atalanta is currently in the crucial final stages of the season and is preparing for an upcoming match against Milan at the San Siro stadium.

Palladino’s contract with Atalanta extends until June 2027. Despite this contractual commitment, there are reports suggesting significant changes within the club’s management structure. It is widely expected that the club will replace its current sporting director, Tony D’Amico, with Cristiano Giuntoli.

Palladino’s Atalanta Future Remains Unclear

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, a prominent transfer expert for Sky Sport Italia, Palladino’s own position at the club is also uncertain, even with a year remaining on his contract at the Gewiss Stadium.

During a press conference held on Saturday, the Atalanta coach shared his sentiments: “I am content here in Bergamo. I have felt great warmth from everyone since my arrival,” he said. “I am proud of the work I have accomplished with the team. We have improved our standing from 13th to seventh place. We were eliminated in the Coppa Italia on penalties and had a remarkable journey in the Champions League, notably eliminating Borussia Dortmund. I view this period positively. Naturally, we must conclude the season strongly. My hope is to build a competitive Atalanta for a new, significant cycle, but as of now, I have not received any indications. The priority at this moment is to finish the season well.”

Palladino further elaborated on his perspective: “I have been evaluating the situation since I joined. I did not assemble this current squad,” he stated. “We will see what unfolds for next season. My ambition is to shape an Atalanta team that is competitive and reflects my vision, and to establish a long-term project that also incorporates young talent.”

Palladino was appointed as the head coach in November 2025, succeeding Ivan Juric. Under his guidance, Atalanta has secured 17 victories in 36 matches, with seven draws and 12 defeats.
