UEFA has officially confirmed the referee appointments for the highly anticipated first-leg quarter-final matches in the Europa League and Conference League.
Serie A is represented by two clubs remaining in European competitions: Bologna will host Premier League side Aston Villa at the Stadio Dall’Ara, and Fiorentina will travel to London to face another Premier League team, Crystal Palace, for their away leg.

The Europa League clash between Bologna and Aston Villa will be officiated by Swiss referee Sandro Schärer, 37. Schärer previously oversaw Atalanta’s 4-0 defeat against PSG in a Champions League group stage match earlier this season. He will be assisted by Stéphane De Almeida and Jonas Erni, with Fedayi San serving as the VAR.
Meanwhile, the Conference League encounter seeing Fiorentina visit Crystal Palace will be handled by Lithuanian referee Donatas Rumšas. This marks Rumšas’s first time officiating a match involving a Serie A club this season. His assistant referees will be Aleksandr Radius and Dovydas Saziedelis, with Rob Dieperink in charge of VAR duties.
