Juventus is reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Emerson Palmieri, an Italian international who was part of the triumphant Euro 2020 squad. This potential move comes after the Turin club failed to secure the signing of Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.
The Old Lady is aiming to build a squad capable of challenging for the Scudetto in the 2026-27 season. However, their financial capacity was impacted by their failure to qualify for the Champions League in the closing stages of the 2025-26 season.
Robertson, a free agent from Liverpool, was a considered option for Juventus’s left-back role. However, with Juventus’s Champions League absence and Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League survival, the Scottish defender is now expected to join the North London club.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus might now turn their attention to Emerson Palmieri. The Brazilian-born Italian player has a history with manager Luciano Spalletti, having worked together during their time at Roma.
The left flank of Juventus’s defense is anticipated to undergo significant changes this summer. With rumors suggesting Andrea Cambiaso could be sold to generate funds for new acquisitions, Filip Kostic’s contract nearing expiration, and Juan Cabal potentially departing, the club is actively seeking reinforcements.
Juventus is said to be monitoring the 31-year-old Emerson. He has been playing in Ligue 1 with Marseille during the 2025-26 season, appearing in 28 league matches and 37 across all competitions.
