Preview Italy Squad Update: Venturino Replaced by Berti for June Friendlies

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has confirmed that Lorenzo Venturino, a young talent from Roma, will not be participating in the upcoming international friendlies in June. He has been replaced in the squad by 22-year-old Cesena midfielder Tommaso Berti.

The national team will be under the temporary management of Silvio Baldini, who usually coaches the U21 side. In preparation for the matches against Luxembourg and Greece, Baldini has largely selected players familiar to him from the youth setup. Only a few players in the current 24-man squad have previous senior caps for Italy.

Venturino’s withdrawal is reportedly due to an undisclosed agreement between AS Roma and the national team. The FIGC has also noted that four additional players were training with the squad, including Berti, who has now been officially added to the roster.

Other players training with the team, Dominic Vavassori and Gabriele Guarino, will return to their clubs, while Nicolo Fortini will remain with the squad until June 2.
