Valencia has enjoyed a successful start to the season’s individual awards in the EuroLeague. Following coach Pedro Martinez, the Dominican point guard for the Iberian club, Jean Montero, has also secured an individual title: the Rising Star award, which recognizes the best young player in the competition this season.
Averaging 13.8 points and 4.6 assists per game in the EuroLeague this season, the point guard has been the spearhead of the competition’s top offense. In the rankings, he finished ahead of Bologna’s Saliou Niang, his Valencia teammate Sergio de Larrea, and Paris’s Momo Faye, who ended up just off the podium.
