Juventus' Champions League Ambitions and Boga's Dream Start

Jeremie Boga has expressed his delight with his initial performances at Juventus, stating he "could not have dreamed of a better start" and is eager to make his loan move permanent. Meanwhile, teammate Manuel Locatelli firmly believes that Juventus "belong in the Champions League."

In a challenging match against Atalanta in Bergamo, Juventus faced significant pressure, with the home side dominating possession and territory for extended periods in the first half. However, a single goal secured the victory for Juventus. The decisive moment came when Boga's shot, aided by a deflection off Atalanta's Marco Carnesecchi, found the back of the net.

Boga has proven to be an impactful January signing for Juventus, netting four goals in nine Serie A appearances since his loan move from Olympique Marseille. His goal against Atalanta was particularly significant as it was against one of his former clubs.

Juventus Ascending Towards Top Four

The forward shared his feelings with Sky Sport Italia: "In all honesty, I could not have dreamed of a better start here. It was a tough game, we played really well, fought hard, and these are three very important points."

Juventus' director, Giorgio Chiellini, had previously indicated an intention to exercise the club's option to purchase Boga outright from Marseille for a reported €4.8 million plus bonuses. Boga himself is keen to secure his future in Turin: "It is my objective to stay here with these great players, so I will give 100 percent in every game and hope that I will remain."

This crucial win propels Juventus to within three points of third-placed Milan, temporarily moving them above Como in the league standings before Como's match against Inter on Sunday evening.

Locatelli emphasized the team's resilience and mindset: "There are some games over the season that you simply must win, we did it tonight with heart and it wasn’t easy. We always tell ourselves, pressure mustn’t weigh on us when we are at Juventus, instead it needs to fuel us, because Juventus belong in the Champions League."

Locatelli also lauded Boga's contributions, recalling their previous time together at Juventus: "I am so pleased for my brother Jerry, because I always thought he could make it at a big club, and now he is finally proving what he can do."
