Speculation persists regarding a potential summer transfer of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni to Barcelona. However, reports from both Italy and Spain indicate a significant disparity in how the two European giants value the Italian international.

Bastoni Transfer Talks: Inter and Barcelona's Stance

Bastoni has faced a challenging period personally, drawing criticism in Italy following his actions during the Derby d’Italia against Juventus in February. More recently, he received a red card in Italy's World Cup play-off final loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Despite these challenges, widespread reports continue to connect the 26-year-old centre-back with a departure from San Siro during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Barcelona initiated an offer for Bastoni amounting to approximately €45 million, an offer which was reportedly rejected outright by Inter.

Conversely, other sources suggest that Inter is steadfast in its demand for a minimum fee of €60 million, potentially increasing to €70 million with performance-based bonuses. Concerns have also been raised regarding Barcelona's ability to meet Inter's financial expectations, given the Spanish club's history of challenges with Financial Fair Play regulations.

To circumvent the high cash transfer fee ranging from €60m to €70m, Barcelona is reportedly considering including one of their own players in a swap deal with Inter.

Potential players mentioned for such an exchange include Gerard Martin, Ferran Torres, or even Dani Olmo.

Should Bastoni indeed depart this summer, Inter is reportedly eyeing Sassuolo's Tarik Muharemovic as a potential replacement.
