Allegri: Milan Must Avoid 'Disaster', but Strikers' Form Not an Issue

Massimiliano Allegri, the coach of AC Milan, expressed confidence that the team's strikers will score decisive goals to secure a Champions League spot. However, he cautioned the team against being overwhelmed by pressure, stating, "We must not be overwhelmed by events, or it becomes a disaster."

Speaking at a press conference on the eve of a Serie A match against Udinese, Allegri acknowledged the team's recent dip in form, which saw them lose to Napoli and slip to third place. He admitted that Milan has failed to score in their last three games and that this needs to be addressed with calmness and clarity.

Despite the initial strong start to the season that led to title aspirations, Allegri reiterated that the primary objective for Milan in the 2025-26 season is to qualify for the Champions League. He believes the team can improve and stay focused on this goal, even with seven matches remaining and other teams showing improvement.

"There are moments when strikers score and others when they don’t," Allegri said. "But I’m sure that from now until the end, they’ll score goals that will help us qualify for the Champions League." He noted that key players like Leao and Pulisic have been hampered by injuries but have still contributed important goals.

Allegri also touched upon other players like Gimenez and Fullkrug, acknowledging their recent returns or new league adjustments. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive environment and a proactive approach to matches, regardless of the number of forwards on the field.

Looking ahead to the match against Udinese, Allegri described them as a physical team that counters aggressively and controls the pitch intensely. He stressed the need for balance and clarity, warning that succumbing to pressure would lead to a "disaster."
