Fairy Tail Manga Returns with Short Serialization to Celebrate 20th Anniversary
Publisher Kodansha has confirmed the return of Hiro Mashima's popular Fairy Tail manga to the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine with a new serialization. This anticipated comeback is part of the celebrations for the series' 20th anniversary, which since its debut in 2006, established itself as one of the publisher's most successful and best-selling titles.
When Will the New Fairy Tail Short Series Premiere?
For all eager fans awaiting the premiere date, the new story arc for the Fairy Tail manga is set to begin publication in the combined 36/37 issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine, scheduled for release on Wednesday, August 5th. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the official announcement promises a "new adventure" starring Natsu Dragneel and the main members of the guild.
The original serialization of Fairy Tail ran from 2006 to 2017, accumulating a total of 63 volumes. Hiro Mashima's story immerses us in a fantasy world where mages organize into guilds. The narrative follows Natsu, a "Dragon Slayer" wizard, on his quest to find his adoptive father, the dragon Igneel, while facing numerous threats, including the formidable dark wizard Zeref. The manga's success led to a 328-episode anime adaptation, various OVAs, and two feature films. The franchise also expanded with the prequel Fairy Tail Zero and the direct sequel Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, whose final volume is scheduled for release on April 9th.
Other Announced Celebrations for Fairy Tail's 20th Anniversary
