Apex Legends 'Aftershock' Event: New Weapons, Wildcards, and Skins Revealed
Apex Legends is set to launch its latest seasonal event, titled 'Aftershock,' bringing a wave of new content to the popular battle royale. Players can anticipate new wildcards, cosmetic items purchasable with event currency, and a brand-new assault rifle.
The 'Aftershock' event will run from Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
A significant new addition is the 'Charged' Wildcard mode, where all Legends start with a Vortex Shield that can intercept incoming bullets and fire them back, along with the ability to unleash Electromagnetic Pulses (EMPs) to stun opponents.
The new Wildcards players can find in this mode include:
- Bigger and Better: Significantly increases Vortex Shield size and accelerates deploy/holster time.
- Duck and Cover: Expands the Vortex Shield's protection area but disables return fire.
- Energy Efficiency: Electromagnetic pulse costs 50% less energy (two uses per charge).
- Sonic Boom: Enhances electromagnetic pulse damage and adds knockback.
- Static Charge: The EMP battery remains fully charged even after use.
- Extra Energy: Reviving teammates grants EMP battery charge.
- Background Process: Adds passive EMP battery charge that increases while sprinting.
- Kinetic Converter: Increases movement speed based on EMP battery charge percentage.
- Heat Signature: Consumes EMP battery charge to highlight enemies through walls.
Another major new feature is the Hemlok Break assault rifle. This weapon boasts automatic fire, a suppressor, and a break launcher with a new break charge mode.
True to tradition, the 'Aftershock' event introduces a variety of new cosmetic items to Apex Legends. This includes fresh skins for Legends such as Wattson, Ash, Pathfinder, Horizon, Crypto, and Gibraltar, alongside weapon skins like the EVA-8 'Hardcore,' Havoc 'Techforged,' and CAR 'Static Discharge'.
Additionally, a new Prestige skin for Fuse will be available, featuring a custom finisher and skydive trail.
Players can also look forward to an event reward store where they can spend event currency, as well as new skins available for purchase in the regular in-game store.
