Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that AC Milan will consider offers for their winger, Rafael Leao, during the summer transfer window. The Italian publication suggests that it has “never been so easy” to secure the signing of the Portuguese international, with Manchester United identified as a potential destination.
AC Milan is reportedly prepared to listen to offers for their attacker, Rafael Leao, this summer, according to Gazzetta.
Leao’s €175 Million Release Clause
The Portuguese player faced criticism from his own fans, being booed when substituted during a recent 3-0 home defeat against Udinese. His goal-scoring form has also seen a dip, with his last goal coming on March 1st.
While Leao possesses a release clause of €175 million, which can be activated between July 1st and 15th, AC Milan understands that no club is likely to meet this figure for the 26-year-old following another inconsistent season.
The 2026 World Cup could be a significant factor, although Leao’s last goal for his national team was in November 2024.
Previous reports suggested that Milan would be open to offers exceeding €50 million next summer. Gazzetta asserts that it has “never been so easy” to persuade the Rossoneri to part with the winger.
Bayern Munich and Barcelona have recently expressed interest in the forward, but neither club has entered into advanced negotiations with Milan or the player’s representatives.
Chelsea made an offer of €80 million several years ago and may still be interested. However, Manchester United should also be closely monitored, as the Red Devils “can be an option more than other clubs,” according to Gazzetta.
Leao’s current contract at the San Siro is set to expire in June 2028. This season, he has contributed ten goals and two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
