Preview Christian Pulisic Ends 2026 Goal Drought in USA Friendly Win

AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic has finally ended his goal drought for 2026, contributing a goal and an assist in the early stages of the USA’s friendly match against Senegal, which concluded on Sunday evening. The USMNT secured a victory in the encounter.

The American international, formerly of Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, had started the 2025-26 season impressively, scoring four goals in his first five appearances and reaching a total of eight by the end of December. However, he subsequently experienced a significant dry spell, going 19 Serie A matches and two international fixtures without finding the net. This period coincided with his club, Milan, missing out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.

Pulisic’s goalless run has now come to an end. He scored the second goal in the USA’s 3-2 victory over Senegal in Charlotte, North Carolina. This match is part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The 26-year-old skillfully rounded Senegal’s goalkeeper, Mory Diaw, and slotted the ball into an empty net from close range. Earlier in the game, Pulisic had also provided the assist for Sergino Dest’s opening goal, which came just six minutes into the match.
