Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini acknowledged that the team has “room for improvement” and emphasized the necessity of avoiding “mistakes” in their upcoming match against Fiorentina. He stressed the importance of securing a victory and preparing diligently for the final stretch of the season to achieve their crucial objective.
The Bianconeri are set to host Fiorentina at the Allianz Stadium in their final home fixture of the season. Chiellini expressed readiness to play the game in the best possible manner, stating, “There isn’t much calculation to make; you see the atmosphere, we have to win.”
The match is scheduled for an unusual 12:00 CET (11:00 BST) kick-off. This timing is a result of a decision by the Rome prefect to start the Rome Derby 30 minutes earlier to avoid a conflict with the Italian Open Tennis Final. Consequently, all teams vying for Champions League qualification, including Juventus, are required to begin their respective games simultaneously.
Reflecting on the scheduling, Chiellini commented, “Obviously, everyone prefers to play these games in the evening. Mistakes have been made, but we have to go beyond that.” He added that while the conditions might not be as hot as expected, they are the same for all competitors. “It’s important to win the game and prepare for these last seven days to reach a crucial goal.”
The former defender also noted the competitive nature of Serie A, stating, “There are five teams within just a few points, which means other teams also struggle with consistency and don’t kill off games.” He further elaborated, “In modern football, the difference between the top teams and the bottom ones is not that big. Everyone has room for improvement. It would be important not to leave this game open until minute 90 because then you can run risks with dead balls, a shot from outside the box or an error that can affect the other 89 minutes.”
