While Battlefield 6 enjoyed a strong launch and positive reviews, its momentum has somewhat waned, with recent updates not fully meeting player expectations. The development team aims to reverse this trend by releasing a 2026 roadmap that outlines new maps and significant content additions planned for Seasons 3, 4, and 5.
The developers detailed these upcoming changes and additions in a video, which is available in English below.
Here’s a look at what to expect in each of the game’s upcoming seasons:
Season 3 (May 2026)
- Remastered Battlefield 4 map: ‘Golmud Railway’
- Remastered Battlefield 3 map: ‘Caspian Border’
- REDSEC Battle Royale: Ranked Quads
- Battle Royale Solo Mode
- New Weapons and Game Modes
Season 4 (July 2026)
- Naval Warfare in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC
- New map ‘Tsuru Reef’ featuring expansive air and sea zones
- New Naval Vehicles and Aircraft Carriers
- Remastered Battlefield 1942 map: ‘Wake Island’
- Customizable Lobbies
- Spectator Mode
- New Weapons and Game Modes
Season 5 (Fourth Quarter 2026)
- Three New Maps
Other Updates for Battlefield 6 in 2026
- Quality of Life Updates and Combat Improvements
- Leaderboards
- Proximity Chat
- Server Browser with Persistent Servers
- Open and Elite Competitive Series
It remains to be seen if these changes will be well-received by players and if Battlefield 6 and Redsec can recapture the glory of their initial launch. However, it’s certain that some of these updates, particularly the server browser, will be very welcome news for many.
Battlefield 6 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App.
