Roanne is making significant moves! Following their promotion to Betclic Élite and contract extensions for key players like Aaron Levarity and Maxime Roos, the Chorale team has secured its first new signing for the upcoming season: center Yvann Mbaya. Mbaya, who served as the third-string center for JL Bourg this past season, will now bring his talents to Roanne.
Having gained valuable experience in the Betclic Élite with Bourg this season, the former ASA player is expected to take on a more prominent role in Roanne’s 2026/27 campaign. In the league, he averaged 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, contributing to his team’s Eurocup victory.
Roanne’s coach, TJ Parker, shared his enthusiasm: “Yvann is a highly motivated individual, thrilled about this opportunity in Betclic Elite with Roanne. He had a challenging season within a deep rotation at JL Bourg, but he proved effective during his minutes and showed he has real potential. He demonstrated his dominance in the lower division with ASA, utilizing his physical presence and strong offensive rebounding. Furthermore, he possesses an excellent attitude, which is crucial as we build our squad to create the best possible team, both on and off the court.”
