After a historic Game 1, Victor Wembanyama’s performance dipped in Games 2 and 3. The Spurs needed more from him to avoid a 3-1 deficit. Wembanyama stepped up, leading the Spurs with a game-high 33 points, along with eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two steals.

“I don’t know if I’m too hard on myself, but we all have high expectations, and I know I have a lot of responsibilities. But I’m ready to take them on,” Wembanyama stated. “This was our first time trailing in the playoffs. We just reacted. Nothing extraordinary. No magic. We just did what was necessary. This series is far from over. We still need six more wins before we can rest.”

Oklahoma City committed 20 turnovers for only the second time this season and the first time in these playoffs. This allowed the Spurs to capitalize with their transition game, scoring 25 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City with 19 points, shooting 6 of 15 from the field. No other Thunder player scored more than Isiah Hartenstein’s 12 points.

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday night into Thursday. Teams that win Game 5 of a best-of-seven series tied 2-2 go on to win the series 81.8% of the time.
