Dillon Danis' highly anticipated return to MMA at Duel Arena 1 was called off during fight week. Danis was slated to headline the event against former UFC and Bare Knuckle FC fighter Mike Perry. However, just days before the bout, Danis pulled out due to a severe arm injury.
This latest withdrawal adds to a pattern of last-minute cancellations for Danis, who has previously backed out of fights against KSI and Anthony Taylor under the Misfits Boxing banner.
The fight community, including prominent figures like Nate Diaz, did not let Danis' latest pullout slide. Diaz seized the opportunity to mock the controversial fighter.
Dillon Danis Fires Back at Nate Diaz Following Taunts Over Fight Withdrawal
Diaz took to social media to comment on Danis' withdrawal, posting "Huge p—- [LAUGHS]" shortly after the news broke.
Danis responded with an explicit and aggressive retort directed at the former UFC standout. He accused Diaz of being a "human punching bag that can talk" and claimed Diaz had rejected million-dollar offers to fight him on multiple occasions. Danis further escalated the online spat by threatening to confront Diaz and his brother in Stockton.
"That’s why security has to keep you two separated. Unloyal c—," Danis added, referencing past incidents.
Diaz and Danis have a history of animosity. As a long-time training partner of Conor McGregor, Danis has frequently clashed with Diaz online over the years.
The tension between them nearly turned physical at a UFC event in Madison Square Garden in 2024, resulting in both fighters being ejected from the venue before any physical confrontation could occur.
Nate Diaz recently returned to MMA earlier this year, facing Mike Perry in a bout that he lost. Should both fighters be willing, a potential future matchup between Danis and Diaz could be a possibility.
