Sergio Llull (38) Not Retiring: Real Madrid Star Eyes Contract Extension & EuroLeague Record
Sergio Llull, at 38 years old, shows no signs of slowing down and has no intention of retiring from professional basketball. The Real Madrid veteran expressed his continued passion and physical readiness to stay on the court.
"Currently, I feel physically great. While I may not be the youngest anymore, my drive and enthusiasm for this sport remain as strong as ever. As long as this passion burns, I will continue to play and enjoy basketball here in Madrid. I sincerely hope they will renew my contract for another year so I can keep relishing this sport and playing for Real Madrid," he stated.
Llull made his debut with Real Madrid in the ACB League playoffs in May 2007, followed by his EuroLeague debut in the 2007-2008 season. He is currently tied with Paulius Jankunas and Giorgos Printezis for the most EuroLeague seasons played, having participated in 19. Just one more season would make him the undisputed record holder.
This season, he averages 3.1 points and 1.5 assists in 11 minutes per game over 29 EuroLeague matches.
