Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa (18) Transfers from Bourg to Roanne for Season End
Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa, an 18-year-old basketball prodigy, is the son of former Cameroonian international Joachim Ekanga-Ehawa. He is an U18 3x3 international player and was a standout leader for JL Bourg's U21 team in the Espoirs Elite championship, averaging an impressive 19 points in 29.5 minutes per game. With the full agreement of his development club, Ekanga-Ehawa will now reinforce the Chorale de Roanne's rotation at the shooting guard position, a move prompted by Jahvon Blair's recent shoulder injury relapse.
Zoran Cvjetkovic, Roanne's sports director, expressed his enthusiasm:
« We are very pleased to welcome a young talent like Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa to Roanne for the remainder of the season. He is among the dominant players in the Espoirs Elite championship, and we are confident he will bring valuable energy as we approach the final sprint of the season in the best possible condition. Instead of pursuing an American player, we prioritized a profile closer to home to provide additional rotation. We sought a player who is immediately available, and crucially, possesses the right mindset to show commitment and integrate into an already established and competitive group. This represents a win-win opportunity for everyone involved. »
