Bandja Sy: "In My Opinion, Nadir Hifi Has the Talent to Play in the NBA"

Bandja Sy is currently averaging 9.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the Romanian championship.

"Joining Oradea was a personal choice for me, as I wanted to contribute my knowledge and experience to an ambitious club. I have a more significant role here and I'm really enjoying it. The club has clear ambitions, and I'm happy to be able to contribute to achieving them. I don't regret leaving the Euroleague."

The Paris native discussed his experience with Brazilian coach Tiago Splitter, who, after an excellent season with Paris Basketball, moved on to the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers.

"It was fantastic to play for him. He's a young coach who had a distinguished playing career, winning individual and collective titles as a player. I'm sure he'll never forget our French Cup and league championship victories in his very first year. We truly shared some great moments, both on and off the court. Our group was in top form; he knew exactly what the players needed, and we managed to find the perfect balance throughout the season. He was very close to the players, communication was excellent, and I believe that greatly contributed to our success. He's now in the NBA, and I'm sure his new players are thrilled to be playing for him."

Bandja also spoke highly of both Nadir Hifi and TJ Shorts.

"Nadir Hifi is undoubtedly one of the most dedicated players I know, and his work ethic is impeccable. He doesn't cut corners and constantly strives to improve every aspect of his game. He takes excellent care of his body, and that level of professionalism is crucial. In my opinion, he possesses the talent to play in the NBA. Regarding TJ Shorts, I'm not sure if I'm the best person to judge the specifics of his decisions. However, I can definitively say that, after Victor Wembanyama, he is the best player I have ever played with. His basketball IQ, leadership, court vision, scoring touch, ability to involve teammates, and capacity to take charge in crucial moments are all immense assets. One only needs to look at his performances over the last three seasons; they truly speak for themselves."
