Marine Johannès, who first joined the New York Liberty in 2019 and has become a fan favorite despite a two-season absence, has officially extended her contract with the team. The franchise announced on Tuesday that the French guard will play for another season.
At 31 years old, Johannès has reportedly secured a significant deal worth $277,500, according to American journalist Madeline Kenney. This substantial agreement is a fitting reward for the native of Lisieux, who proved to be a valuable asset for the Liberty last season, averaging 6.4 points per game. She will be playing alongside German women’s basketball star Satou Sabally.
