Preview Lauri Markkanen to Play Against France in July

Finnish basketball player Lauri Markkanen has confirmed his participation in upcoming international matches, including a game against France in July. Markkanen, who had a limited NBA season with the Utah Jazz due to a hip injury, sees these games as a crucial opportunity to regain his form and rhythm before the next NBA season.

Markkanen’s NBA season was cut short, playing only 42 out of 82 games. Despite the limited appearances, he averaged a career-high 26.7 points per game. His last match was on February 24th, after which he was sidelined with a stiff hip syndrome.

“We have some international games coming up and I’m excited to play in them again, it will be a good boost for the NBA season,” Markkanen stated with a smile.

Finland currently holds a 3-1 record in Group G of the European qualifiers, with one victory against France (83-76). They have two remaining games in July and will play two more in August as part of a new six-game schedule in Group L.
