Inter Milan will be without both Yann Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez for their upcoming Serie A match against Cagliari. Neither player has sufficiently recovered from their respective injuries to be available for selection.
Yann Bisseck has not yet rejoined full group training after sustaining a muscle strain that has kept him sidelined since the international break. According to Sky Sport, via FCInter1908, the German defender is aiming to return either for the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Como on Wednesday or the following league fixture against Torino on Sunday.
Inter Captain Lautaro Martinez Targeting Torino Clash for Return
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez is not rushing his return for the Cagliari game. The Inter captain has set his sights on the match against Torino on Sunday, April 26th, as his target return date. The Argentine has already faced an extended period out this year due to a soleus muscle injury sustained during the Champions League playoff against Bodo/Glimt in February. This latest setback means he will have missed a significant portion of the club’s 2026 fixtures.
With six league games remaining and a nine-point lead at the top of the table, manager Cristian Chivu has enough of a cushion to manage the players’ return to fitness carefully. However, the sooner Lautaro is available, the better positioned Inter will be to maintain their substantial, albeit manageable, lead at the summit.
