Preview Inter Star Marcus Thuram Taunts Rivals Milan with Banners During Title Parade

During Inter Milan’s celebrations for their recent Scudetto and Coppa Italia triumphs, star forward Marcus Thuram engaged in a public display of taunting towards their city rivals, AC Milan. The Nerazzurri celebrated with their supporters on Sunday following their final home game of the season against Verona, culminating in an open-top bus parade that traversed the city from San Siro to the central Piazza Duomo.

Thuram notably attracted attention during the parade by holding up two banners critical of their rivals. One of the banners featured an image of a rat adorned with Milan’s characteristic red and black colors. The second banner carried a provocative message, reading: “Put the Derbies won up your a**.”

This latter statement served as a direct retort to similar displays made by AC Milan players in past celebrations. Notably, in 2007, Massimo Ambrosini displayed a comparable banner after Milan’s Champions League victory, directing a similar insult towards Inter regarding their Scudetto win that season. This tradition was echoed in 2022 by Mike Maignan when Milan secured the Scudetto while Inter had won the Coppa Italia.

It is anticipated that Thuram may face a fine for his actions, a consequence that has also befallen Milan players for similar past incidents.
