Following Victor Wembanyama’s announcement, Guerschon Yabusele, the captain of the French team from the last EuroBasket, has also expressed his desire to participate in the upcoming international window in July. These matches, as reported in an interview, will see France face Belgium and then Finland, with qualification for the 2027 World Cup at stake.
“I commit to being there,” Yabusele stated. “After what happened last summer, it’s important that we are all together. I hope everyone will be available.”
This is excellent news for coach Freddy Fauthoux, especially since the former Villeurbanne player has rediscovered his form in Chicago. Since his move to the Bulls, he has averaged 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. He nonetheless affirmed that he holds no grudge against the New York Knicks, where his journey quickly turned sour at the start of the season.
