Sassuolo appears to be on the verge of appointing Domenico Tedesco as their new manager. Reports indicate that Tedesco is nearing an agreement to terminate his contract with Fenerbahce.
The Italian club, Sassuolo, has been in search of a new coach following Fabio Grosso’s decision to step down after successfully guiding the team to promotion from Serie B and then securing mid-table stability.
Grosso is expected to be officially announced as the new coach of Fiorentina in the coming days.
Tedesco Ready for Sassuolo
Meanwhile, according to Sportitalia, Tedesco has settled the final details of his departure from Fenerbahce, with the contract being mutually terminated.
The 40-year-old is now reportedly set to sign a two-year contract with Sassuolo, which includes an option for a third season.
Although born in Italy, Tedesco relocated to Germany at a young age and began his coaching career in the youth academies of Stuttgart and Hoffenheim.
His senior coaching journey began in 2017 with Erzgebirge Aue. He has since managed Schalke 04, Spartak Moscow, RB Leipzig, and most recently served as the national team coach for Belgium from 2023 to 2025.
Tedesco took the helm at Fenerbahce last summer, but his tenure has concluded after they finished as runners-up to rivals Galatasaray, despite a record of 26 wins, 12 draws, and seven losses during his time there.
