The likelihood of a French player being selected in the upcoming NBA Draft has significantly decreased. According to reports from Jonathan Givony, Adam Atamna, considered the only French player with a genuine chance of being drafted by American scouts, has decided against entering the next NBA Draft.
This decision might allow Atamna to further develop his professional career and build on the promising performances he showcased this season. For instance, in a game against Monaco, the guard scored 24 points, nearly leading ASVEL to a significant victory. While ASVEL aims to continue in the Euroleague, the possibility of Atamna transferring to the NCAA remains a point to watch, though no concrete information has emerged regarding this.
Momo Faye Also Opts Out
Another notable prospect from the French league, Mouhamed Faye from Paris, has also reportedly chosen not to declare for the upcoming Draft. At 21 years old, his decision is somewhat surprising, especially coming off a strong season with the Parisian club, which earned him fourth place in the Euroleague’s ‘Rising Star’ award voting.
