This move comes after a disappointing fifth-place finish in the 2025-26 Serie A season, which resulted in the team’s exclusion from the upcoming Champions League. The club is set to begin anew in the summer.
Financial Ramifications for AC Milan Post-Dismissals
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the financial impact of these sackings could be significant, potentially costing the club up to €22 million. The newspaper outlines that these expenses will be classified as non-recurring charges in the financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
The most considerable payouts are expected for CEO Giorgio Furlani and coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Furlani’s contract was originally set to expire in 2028. His annual salary of €3 million, coupled with bonuses, is estimated to amount to approximately €10 million gross. Meanwhile, Allegri is under contract until June 2027, with a salary of €5 million, totaling around €9 million gross.
The remaining financial obligation for Igli Tare, the former sporting director, is estimated at €3 million gross. Tare was contracted until 2028 with an annual wage of €800,000.
Geoffrey Moncada had recently reached an agreement for a contract extension, but it had not yet been formally signed. Consequently, his current deal with the Rossoneri has only one month remaining.
It is important to note that the financial burden on AC Milan for these dismissals could be reduced if Tare, Allegri, and Furlani secure new positions with other clubs or companies. For instance, Allegri is rumored to be a leading candidate to replace Antonio Conte at Napoli.
